Performs Worldwide Missionary Work

It is a great opportunity and privilege to be instrumental in reaching lost souls and to be able to evangelize to thousands of people who are suffering. Our non-profit organization in Hyattsville, MD, World Hope DC Metro, carries out missionary work throughout the globe to provide assistance to individuals in need. By doing so, through the power of the Word of God, we strive to touch the hearts of our lost brothers and sisters and bring them back into the arms of the Lord.

About Our Non-Profit Organization

World Hope is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by Dr. David Janney in 1997. Since the establishment of our foundation, we have been able to prepare teachers and preachers to share the Gospel, win lost souls, and evangelize to those who have no hope. We inform our volunteers about the importance of our mission of spreading the Gospel and making the name of God known throughout the nations.

We train short-term missionaries to carry out this mission by distributing Christian tracts to others in order to give them hope and encouragement. We also enlighten others about God’s love for all through Christian songs and liturgical dances. Presenting conferences and holding crusades is also an approach we use to reach out and share the Word of God.

McKinley & Helen Battle

History of World Hope DC Metro

In 1995, Reverend McKinley Battle and his wife Helen began their journey into missions by leading a monthly missions team to the Veteran’s Administration in Washington, DC, where they minister to soldiers of war. That same year, they established a Bible study group for seniors at Cottage City Towers, located in Bladensburg, Maryland. The Battles had also been providing Thanksgiving dinners for the past eight years to the impoverished all over the metropolitan area.
 
In 1997, it was through a mutual friend that McKinley Battle met Dr. David Janney, Pastor of Orlando Baptist Church and founder of World Hope. Dr. Janney had also realized his purpose in life and was traveling to foreign lands to seek and tell others the "Good News." Pastor Janney and "Brother Mac," as he warmly refers to him, found they had a common interest, a yearning to carry out "The Great Commission.”
 
Brother Mac, having honed his gift of evangelism locally, was ordained in Orlando, Florida at Orlando Baptist Church in 1999 by Pastor Janney for the purpose of spreading the gospel of Jesus globally. Dr. Janney and Rev. Battle began a long-term ministerial association. They found themselves united by the love of God and the strong desire to carry out "The Great Commission."
 
Rev. McKinley Battle previously served as assistant to the pastor at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Washington, DC. He and his wife are members of Zion Church in Landover, MD. McKinley Battle presently serves as the director of the local chapter of World Hope.
